Been in the studio over the past few months with a couple of different artists. First was Bruce Williams for his organ project featuring Pat Bianchi and Cecil Brooks, III.
Taking up most of early 2010 was preproduction, tracking, and mixing for the upcoming release by .357 Lover, which I produced in addition to playing. It was a pleasure tracking and getting input from John Davis, and mixing with both John and Joel Hamilton.
Upcoming projects include a recording with keyboardist Tom Wetmore, and beginning work a new record of original music.

Short update-- At Skipper's Plane St. Pub in Newark, NJ this Sunday, November 22, with Radam Schwartz (Hammond B3) and Steve Johns (drums). An early hit-- 4PM to 8PM.

Very busy lately! Playing this weekend (Sept. 4) at the Tony Williams Jazz Festival in Philadelphia in an organ quartet with Bruce Williams, Pat Bianchi, and the great Cecil Brooks, III. Now that's a band! In Philly again on Sept. 12 for something totally different--the BURLESk-N-MORE event with .357 Lover. We will also be doing a video shoot down there earlier in the day.
.357 Lover recently recorded a video performance for the FOX television show Fearless Music. Should air nationally in about a month. The band also has a new record coming out called Diorama of the Golden Lion. Wednesday, some members of the band will be doing an in-studio acoustic performance on a satellite radio station to promote the new record.
The summer was busy, with lots of performances with Lonnie Youngblood, Melvin Davis, and other regular projects. Here's hoping for more great things in the fall!

Long time with no updates. I am now playing with Corn Mo's band .357 Lover. .357 Lover will be at the Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles on May 31, with other NYC and east coast shows coming up-- check the .357 Lover page periodically for more details. I will unfortunately no longer be performing at the CD release for Radam Schwartz on May 15th and 16th at Cecil's, as I had a scheduling conflict with a private event, but I recommend you check it out! I will indeed be at Cecil's with the Jim Saltzman Quartet on May 29 and 30 playing some of Jim's original music. Friday May 8 I will be at Richard Cecere's with Mel Davis for some standards and R&B. Finally, I recommend checking out the jazz jam session at Cecil's on Tuesdays. Usually Bruce Williams hosts, occasionally I host, and the house band usually includes Noel Sagerman on drums and Pat Bianchi on Hammond B-3 organ. Even when I am not hosting I usually stop through. There is no cover or music charge, and some amazing musicians usually stop through or play in the house band--come early at 9PM as the first set is usually a killer.

Welcome to my yet-again-redesigned site. I've attempted to make it a bit more easy-to-read and navigate. I've been kind of slack about updates, but I've been busy, doing some gigs with Radam Schwartz, Bruce Williams, Matt Chertkoff, and others. I've scaled back my performances with the Cecil's Big Band dramatically to make time for other projects.

Also with Tom Wetmore 9/27 at the Knitting Factory with Garrett Brown, Justin Sabaj, et al. Still on Mondays at Cecil's, and some Tuesdays as well.

Come to Cecil's Jazz Club on Fri-Sat June 5-6 in the evening for saxophonist Bruce Williams, featuring Brad, Nick Rolfe on keys, Tyshawn Sorey on drums, et al. This promises to be a great show of electric-oriented jazz material.

Weekly gigs continue Saturdays at Carino's with Willie Appliewhite and Mondays at Cecil's with Mike Lee and the Cecil's Jazz Orchestra. The Cecil's Jazz Orchestra will also be appearing Friday, November 16th if Mondays are not your thing.

Last-minute, but playing tonight at Carino's, which is a new spot at 1710 2nd Ave (between 88th and 89th sts). This is an interesting trio with trombonist Willie Appliewhite and percussionist Charles Pulliam. We've been doing this almost every week, but nothing is set in stone and it's always last minute, so visit the contact page to get in touch weekly to see if this is going on! Just a quick update to keep it current. I'm still doing the one-man-band thing in my home studio from time to time. The collection of solo material is growing, and you can hear many of these tunes on the creative section of this site. Cecil's Jazz Orchestra is still doing the Monday night thing, and I'm doing a few other freelance gigs as well. Unfortunately, many of the public events have been fairly short-notice of late and have not made it to my website in time. Stay tuned for more, however!
